San Diego Golf School - Junior Classes
MEET WORLDS #1 KATHY HENDERSON
YES, THE WORLDS TOP 4 YEAR OLD GOLFER
Meet our youngest star Kathy Henderson. Kathy is just 4 years of age.She has been visiting our Mind Power Golf School's San Diego Golf School location in San Marcos along with her golfing dad and teacher, Simon, since Kathy was too small to even walk. She always had a baby sized plastic driver in her stroller. Simon's devotion to Kathy has been very worthwhile. As Kathy has grown, it's been a pleasure building clubs just a bit longer, and watching her hit them so well. Kathy Henderson is now the #1 four year old junior in the World...yes, not a misprint...Kathy is the World 4 year old #1 junior.
It's always a pleasure having Kathy come along to the school for junior classes. She's a 100% devoted golfer and can hit the ball a LLLONG way! Straight too!
If you have a junior golfer with a strong desire to learn the game, our San Diego Golf School for juniors is certainly unique in its training method. We strive to produce the best San Diego Junior Golfers we can possibly produce. No cookie cutter chorus line instruction here.
If you're after generic $10 per lesson instruction with 40 other juniors banging away, then this isn't for you.
If you are after an honest assessment of your child's potential and a subsequent junior classes program to quickly promote the best possible swing in a two to one teaching environment...then please read on.
I receive calls almost daily from parents asking about starting their juniors in our San Diego Junior Golf School classes. I've listed the most common questions and answers below. If you have other questions please contact me through the contact us link.
Q. What age do you recommend children begin junior classes?
A. This varies. Parents are the best judge of how attentive their children are. Some4 year olds are more mature than others.
Q. How intense would a class be for a junior?
A. I like to see juniors move along at their own pace. By doing this they remain more interested when I really need to draw their attention to important areas of their progress. When they begin to show signs of boredom, I switch gears and go to something more fun, like a chipping contest, or just allow them to sit and rest a while, to chat with one of the other juniors.
Q. What is the youngest junior you've worked with?
A. 4 years of age.
Q. How long does a junior class run?
A. Attention for most juniors under 6 yrs of age is 20 minutes. I like to allow them to play about for a few minutes, re charge their interest with a fun competition, then slowly bet back to where we left off.
Q. How many juniors in a class?
A. I prefer to limit each class to two students, this minimizes distractions.
Q. When are classes scheduled for juniors?
A. 2.30 through 3.00 on selected days.
Q. What is the cost of the 1 hour, junior class?
A. The cost with myself instructing is $90 per student with a two
student maximum per class.
Q. Can parents stay during the junior class instruction?
A. Absolutely.
Q. Can parents video their child's instruction?
A. Absolutely. I encourage it.
Q. Is there a schedule on the website?
A. No, just click contact us and I'll personally return your email the same day it's received. As the schedule changes due to continual bookings, there is no pre set schedule on the website.
Q. Is there a set program?
A. I analyze each junior's swing and the result of that analysis then creates that juniors program. 'Pre set' is often bad for individual development.
Q. Do you work on mental development?
A. If the junior is at a level where the mental game can be developed, yes. Mental instruction generally doesn't apply to junior golfers under 10 years of age.
Q. How about putting?
A. Yes, putting classes are scheduled monthly.
Q. Aside from you having the Master level credentials and a Ph.D., what else qualifies you to teach my child?
A. My five children and five grand children :)
