San Diego Golf School - Testimonials

Our student testimonials show amazing results. Handicap reductions averaging 40% are now common place amongst our students. Please note that some of our testimonials include the students phone number. These phone numbers have been provided at will by our students for those of you who would like to contact them and ask questions about our school. We ask that you respect the privacy of our students and only call them if you are serious about improving your golf game through our school.

A combination of swing refinements and thought pattern corrections have produced not only greatly improved golfers but also players who now possess an ability to actually observe other golfers swings and make corrections to their game. You see, we not only fine tune your game, but instill in you the "feel" needed to make the correct moves in your swing and also pass this special "feel" on to others. Our technique around the green - chipping and putting - will (yes WILL!) drop 6 strokes off of your average round. Lastly, we also promise you a great deal of fun!

Hello Jason,

Sorry that I have not contacted you until now, but I have been very busy working on many things, and one of them is your swing thought "go there" and the mental game... the result is the attached photograph.

I lowered my handicap to 9 and won the club tournament.

Thank you again.

For anyone interested in improving their golf game, especially the short game, they should definitely consider attending Jason's school. I have been to two other two-day schools in the past 15 years and this is by far the best experience I have had. Jason's ability to analyze each person's specific needs was quite evident.

There were two of us in the school and we each had more than enough individutal instruction time to learn even though we were from different backgrounds and skill level.

Jason does not have a "one way only" approach to teaching. He works with each golfer individually!

His extensive educational background speaks well for his ability to communicate what is necessary to teach and reinforce the skills needed with each golfer's game. He goes the extra mile to see that you will have a positive golf learning experience.

Hi Jason,

It was a great experience and pleasure to attend your 2 day golf school this week. I just wished I could've done a longer 3 or 4-day school, but with my work schedule and travel over the next several months, it's hard to get days off. Maybe during the winter, when my work schedule is more relaxed, I will definitely come back for more (and to again test your patience!!).

Yesterday, after the school, I drove straight to the driving range and spent almost 2 hours hitting balls. I took my time, remembering what had been taught during the school, to hit each ball in the basket. There were several shots that I wished you were there to witness (and of course, there were 'some' shots that I was glad that you weren't there to see). On the way home, I realized that one of the blisters popped and bled, but I couldn't recall when it happened! It was just so much fun!

Thank you very much for your patience with me and the opportunity for me to learn such a great sport!!

Warmest Regards,
Asako Suzuki

Jason,

I have now been on my own for about 5 weeks. And I have to say my swing is so much better than before I came to your school. I have been playing golf for about 15 years, I have had numerous lessons. I noticed at the end of each lesson I couldn't hit the ball better than at the beginning of the lesson. One teacher had me so twisted up I couldn't get back to the ball. Another kept her hands across her chest and rotating saying, "this is all you need to know about a golf swing" and all had one thing in common; when the lesson was over, I still didn't know what to do. Then I came your school.

I have to give you so much credit for your patience. I could not get the club to go to the target. The entire first day was spent getting my club to go down the target line. All kinds of scenarios were used to get me to not go left. I still hear your voice, "Don't go left!". That night I thought of what we were trying to do and the next day, wow, I could do it. The second day was my extension through the swing, tempo and getting to the "bottom tile". Again, we worked and worked and it finally got through to me what we were trying to do. Then we taped, that really showed me what was going on with my swing. By the end of the session, I had a swing I could be proud of and I finally knew what was wrong when I hit a poor shot. So I could correct my faults, which is huge.

The amount of effort and commitment we both made those three days was tremendous. And it was all totally worth it. If a potential student wants to work very hard for three days they will be a much, much better golfer after working with you.

I cannot recommend you highly enough. I have shots I never had, the 175 to 200 into the green, the lob shots around the green and my putting confidence is very high. I love my new game. Money well spent. I wish I had found you 15 years ago.

Jason, I will talk to anyone who wants info about your program. Have them contact me by e-mail.

Thanks again.

Jason,

Hope you are doing well. I have to share some stuff with you. Since I last saw you on March 10th I had not picked up a golf club except to practice the "move" in my living room. My daughter was sick, then I was sick, then I was buried at work. Well, this past Saturday I was visiting my father in Palm Springs and we decided to go play the exec course he lives on. It is a Par 58 with 4 par fours and the rest par threes. The 4 pars are all 255 yards in length and the 3 pars range from 100-200 yards. I was using his very old set of clubs. The course is very tree lined with some amount of water so accuracy is a must. When the dust had settled I walked away with a 61 and that is with missing 9 putts under 15 feet. Many of them were less than 10 feet. The greens were extremely slow and I never really got adjusted to their speed. I could not believe how straight I was hitting the ball and this was with no practice.

On the first hole I hit a very weak and stiff fade leaving it 50 yards short of the green. My mind starting to think negative but I dismissed the thought and wrote it off to being rusty. I take out his old rusty pitching wedge and from the right rough swing pointing my club to the target. Out came the ball high and straight right at the pin and it stopped 8 feet short of the pin. Missed the putt of course. The second hole was a 160 yard par three. I took out his 5 iron and hit it pin high 15 feet from the cup. Even on the holes where I made a bad swing and left the ball short or long within 20 yards of the green I ended up pitching the ball with a pitching wedge close to the hole. I did not hit any of the chips/pitches fat. All I did was point the club at the pin and the results were impressive. The other highlites of the day:

18th hole. 200 yard par 3 uphill. I took out a Callaway 4 wood and hit a high shot straight as a arrow that landed pin high 10 feet to the right.

8th hole. 180 yards all over water. I took out his old 3 iron. I hit a laser straight at the flag. The ball mark was 5 feet in front of the hole and the ball came to rest 20 feet past the hole.

13th hole. 190 yard with water short and right. Hit it just a bit short and right. Not a bad shot but didnt fully commit to the shot. I was 15 yards off the green. Next shot I pitched it and it disappeared into the cup.

11th hole. 100 yards. Pin tucked 15 feet from the front edge of the green with water directly in front. I took out a PW and choked way down. I got into the ski position and hit it 10 feet short of the hole. The ball was flying right at the pin and I thought it had a chance to go in.

As the round went on I was noticing how much more control of the golf ball I felt and how over time I can get even more and confidence in my shot making ability. Behind my building excitement was a feeling of calm control.

One other thing. On the last 3 par 4s I hit the driver straight. Each time it landed 10 yards short of the green which would put the distances at 240 yards each time. Now I am not complaining but I can hit my driver farther than that. It wasnt my driver but it was a good Callaway 10 degree driver. With more practice I will become better at releasing my driver down the target line with more clubhead speed.

Overall it was a very exhilarating experience especially considering I had not practiced since leaving you. A lot of what we worked on got consolidated in my head and in my muscle memory. I still get confused on using the plumbob putting method but that will come.

So all in all I would consider this a job well done!!!! So now, what is new with you?

Q: Hello, I was considering attending Jason's golf school for a 2 or 3 day program and wanted to know if you'd recommend him. Judging by the testimonials, it's hard to not think it would benefit most peoples game. My concern is when I google him I find many more links and news about his artwork and recent novel writing than I do about his golf accolades. Please let me know your opinions.

Hello , W....

I just came back (January) from San Diego (I live in Massachusetts) with my son from a 5 day school with Jason. This was my second time at Jason's school with my son. We went back to brush up on the skills we had learned from Jason previously and needed Jason to help us take my son's game to the next level.

While Jason is certainly a great artist and book writer it just shows how much energy this man has. His talents often amaze me.

The key to Jason is simple, he absolutely will not give up on anyone, regardless of ability. He takes it very very seriously that you feel coming out of his sessions that you got your money's worth. His success is your success and works relentlessly with you to ensure that you understand the fundamentals of what he is teaching you. You will never feel that you did not get your monies worth from his sessions.

The key for me and why I went back is that what he teaches works and that is what matters most in the end. For me he not only fine tuned my son's game from a physical (correct swing) but he helped immensely with his pre-shot routine and positive thoughts before, during and after the round.

I would recommend at least 3 days to make sure you can cover all aspects of your game. Most importantly get a putting lesson from him. The Apex method he teaches really is cool.

Let me know if you want to speak on the phone as well.

First Hole-In-One

Congratulations to Brian Altman of Washington State on his first ACE. Brian accomplished his hole-in-one just two days after completing his three day school with school director Jason Denaro. Brian played his new 9 iron from the back tees on Reidy Creek’s 15th hole. Brian definitely brought a better game. Yes, hitting the dead straight shot is just TOO easy once you have THE moves, and understand how to use your mind to its maximum power.

When I first looked for golf schools - I stopped at Mind Power Golf because of the low student to instructor ratio. I didn't want to be part of a herd of people standing in front of the instructor swinging clubs. Additionally, when I finally did inquire about a school, they were very accommodating - asking me what would work best for my schedule. I booked a 3 day school for Sept 2007.

When I arrived at the school, Jason made me feel very relaxed - assuring me that I would see improvement in my game. We started from the basics and worked from there. My lazy loopy swing and bad stance were corrected. The school was not endlessly hitting balls - though plenty were hit - but a real hands on teaching experience. The key was that Jason explained everything - what was wrong, what that did to the ball flight, how it needed to be corrected and what that would do for the ball flight after. Never was I told to do something without a reason or an explanation why. But the best part was the playing round on the 3rd day - everything from the range was transferred to the course.

I am now seeing improvements in my game. More importantly, when I do make a mistake - I have a better understanding of what I did wrong. I look forward to attending another school next year and building on the lessons from this school. I can't say enough positive things about my experience at Mind Power Golf.

I mean everything in there Jason - appreciate it all.

Jason,

Although its been a few months since I attended your school, I wanted to give you an update. After returning home, I did not do as you had recommended (to go practice the new swing for a few weeks before playing). In fact, I started playing the next day & the guys were impressed with my improvement especially GIR. Unfortunately, my game got worse & worse over the next few weeks until I reviewed my video tape from the school as well as the read over the material that you provided.

Following that, I went back to the basics that I learned from you and practiced those basic positions, I'm happy to say "Life is Good" again. I'm hitting my clubs with confidence & if I do mishit one, I immediately know what it was that I did incorrrectly. I must admit that I was surprised that you are able to teach on a individual basis like you, do but I'm certainly glad you do. You really make learning easier and enjoyable.

I must tell you that what I have learned from you about the APEX putting technique & the Ski position Chip Shot was worth the cost of the course on its own. I had atended another very well known Short Game School & didn't really hear anything that I didn't already know. It's bound to be a little more difficult to teach when there's 1 teacher for 40 students VS your 1 to 1 instruction.

Jason, thanks for proving that the golf swing doesn't have to be difficult.

Hi Jason!

Two months have passed by since we (me and my wife) took the 3 days golf school - first timers! Having spoken the last years of trying this game we finally end up in San Diego - what could be a better place to start learning this game? We have bought several golf books, have been regular visitors at Surf & Turf range, looking video clips and golf games in TV... taking it seriously? ;) Not really but determined to learn how to play this game. We wanted to thank you for the great 3 days we had early August. It was a blast, just full of fun, some frustrating moments, sure but good memories and first of all time and money well spent. Having no knowledge how to even handle the club, not to mention anything about the mysterious "swing", I think we did pretty well. Looking the recent videoclips one couldn't tell that we have just started. Thanks to you and your very patient and fun way of teaching. Keeping mind the "tricks" we hope to suprise our friends in Finland once we move back and go for the local golf courses. I also appreciate the opportunity I had some days ago - playing with you at Reidy Creek golf course. For a first timer it is great to play with a pro. And the clubs we bought from you are just great!

Thanks again and hope to see you again!

Jason,

Howdy Mate! Nick Kurns here, from Tucson Arizona. I was a student of yours over two years ago and wanted to thank you again for my consistent golf game. If you remember me I was a frustrated 12 handicapper and couldn't get my handicap to move in the downward direction. Upwards was no problem, heck anyone can do that.

One day after your 4 day clinic I shot a score of 81 (9 handicap) and I have constantly maintained that handicap until about two months ago when my handicap went in the downward direction again! I am now a very happy 6.5 handicapper and can feel the momentum of going even lower.

Before I attended your clinic my life long dream was to have a 10 handicap after your clinic my dream was to have a 6 handicap. Now, my dream is to have a round in the 60's! I know I can do it now. And my thanks go to you for the MIND POWER to get it done. It may have taken 2 years to get there but getting there has been fun and exciting so it was not a problem for me. All I had to do practice, practice, practice and use what you taught me. I used to be the 6th best player in my small group and now I am the 2nd best player with my target goal to beat MR. BIG! I am within reach! I have won the most improved golfer award two years in a row after your lessons!

I can't tell you how rewarding it is to be playing a round of golf with 3 other golfers you have never met and after the round each one of them comes up to me and tells me what a great round I had and that they enjoyed watching me accomplish the score. It's new territory for me and I like the view!

Jason, thank you again for your confidence building clinic. Next time I am in San Diego we should golf a round together.

Jason,

Blake Meek
Congratulations to Blake Meek of Pasadena, our IJGTA under 12 years of age tournament winner.

We played nine holes yesterday.  As usual Blake was in a big hurry to hit the ball and started without doing the correct set-up or taking any practice swings... results were predictably; i.e., great tee shots, but the 2nd or 3rd shots were poor and off line.  Finally after 4 holes he was so frustrated he asked what he was doing wrong (his grandmother had come to watch him play!) I told him to try and do what he had learned from you on Saturday; i.e., line the ball up to the flag, take three practice swings focusing on keeping your head position and extending thru to the flag.  Well the very next hole - 370 yd. par 4 he had a 230 yd. drive and hit a 7 iron 15 feet from the pin!  The next four holes were all pars.  #8 at our club is the # 1 handicap - you have to cross a creek twice on a 410 yd. par 4.  His tee shot was perfect and he had 180 over the creek to the green. He had never made it on the green in two on this hole.  He usually puts his 2nd shot in the sand trap next to the green (a bail out position) - he hit his 5 wood on the green 25ft. from the pin.  Best shot I have ever seen him hit......what a thrill to see how happy he was!  Don't know if he will remember why he made that shot, but we can always hope!

I want to tell you how much we appreciate the time and effort you are putting into Blake's development.  He is a good kid and he wants to be the very best golfer there is.  He still has a lot to learn, but I think with your coaching he is on an accelerated path to being very good.  Again, thank you!

P.S.  He loves the new Moe Norman set-up and it has increased his drive by at least 20-30 yards and he is now VERY accurate off the tee.  He even has his grandmother doing it!

Congratulations to one of our great young students!

Well Jason, you will have to excuse any typing errors. I am working with the small keys on a Blackberry, from the bar in my hotel, now on my third margarita. I'm off to LAX tomorrow for my flight home to Ontario. It was a pleasure to meet you, to play with you and to learn from you.   I thought you would enjoy this story. As you know, I was just not into today's round.   But it is not in me to give up, so after a couple of Advil and some shopping, I went to a range. I took three practice swings for every ball getting into the "go there" position.   It is starting to feel natural.   You could put a blanket over any iron I hit and cover the balls.   I moved to driver, kept the routine, kept the results.   After a bit I noticed it was quiet on the range.   I look up and about 4 people on either side of me are just watching as I hit these towering, straight. long drives. Anyway, it's a process and it is underway.   Thanks again If I may make one observation from today.   Jason, you made your first bogey when you were 3   under par you turned and asked me what   I thought was the course record..   Golf Gods or subconscious?
Cheers.

Short Game Clinic

Hello Jason,

Our time together on Monday the 4th was by far the most valuable instruction that I have recieved since I began golfing. Wednesday the 6th I went and played at River Walk Golf Course near Fashion Valley and saw the results. I played 27 holes, shot 4 under with 9 birdies, 5 bogeys and 2 three putts. All I've got to say is there's no turning back. The Short Game Clinic easily shaved 5-7 strokes off my overall game. I have been playing golf for about 15 years, I am 26 now, and prior to this lesson I was stuck in the 75 to 78 scoring range. Within the first 15 minutes of my time with Jason he pointed out some key moves in my swing that were necessary and some that were very necessary. Between the full swing changes, the green reading technique and the chipping technique Jason introduced to me by Jason, I am now shooting par or better much more consistently. I am an assistant professional currently, but I plan on playing tournament golf full time as soon as I get my game where it needs to be. This lesson with Jason put me that much closer to where I want to be.

Jason,

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how well the new swing is working. It took some time to beat the baseball swing out of my mind but it has finally been banned from the golf course. My Index has dropped from a 13 to a 7.6 and my confidence is very high. I shot my best round (73-relatively easy course)and a personal best of 75 on my home course (71.1 slope 134) in the club championship.
Thanks for your help.

As you know I spent an enormous amount of time performing research on the Web identifying golf schools that would bring my son ’ s golf game to the next level.   I came across Mind Power Golf Schools and was immediately intrigued by the web site since it addressed many of the concerns I had with my son ’ s game, that being the short game and putting.   Most notably having the ability to have you work with him one on one was key for me since he previously attended a major golf school where it was group lessons and the techniques presented by the school were very basic and did not address the areas that he needed improvement on.   I checked all of the references on your web site and while everyone gave excellent reviews I have to admit I was still concerned only because this was the last opportunity to bring my son ’ s game to the next level before his final year on the High School Golf Team and also to ensure his ability to play in college.

I would like to say to all of the parents who are looking to either introduce their children to golf, or take their child ’ s golf to the next level, that this is the school!   Don ’ t look any further, I put an enormous amount of effort checking references and I was there with my son in August and it was excellent.   Jason provided to my son a life changing experience in that now my son “ owns his swing ” , he understands it and has a foundation to go back to when needed but most importantly Jason strengthened my son ’ s mental game and dramatically improved his focus and pre-shot routines.   I recommend at least 3 days, ( I actually did 4) since while I thought my son ’ s short game (putting) needed help, Jason was able to demonstrate that by being able to chip, hit medium and long irons, and the driver straight by using his method, it dramatically improved my son ’ s confidence in these areas, and put him in the fairway and closer to the pin!   The APEX putting technique was invaluable and my son is now able to read every break without effort thus simplifying his thought process and reducing the number of putts per round.

Lastly, I would invite anyone who visits this site to give me a call about my experience with the San Diego Golf School and the instruction given by Jason Denaro as I would be happy to talk with you at length about my experience and how my son is doing since attending.

Thanks again Jason for your personalized attention to my son ’ s game and providing a foundation that truly has brought his game to the next level!

Jason!!

I'm loving this game!!!

I didn't think it would take this long to groove the new swing but I'm way more consistent now than ever in only a month after your class. I have also started controlling my fade and can will it knowing what in my swing induces it. Love it, man.

I've added a 3 and a 2 iron in my bag since I lost about a club length with the switch. I played with it the past two days and I'm amazed, once the swing is grooved, how easy the introduction is. When faced with a tee shot of 180 to 200 yards, I've always reached for my driver and easy swing. But with the 2 and 3, I've reached the greens on both days with little fade. I'm hitting these guys straight like Tiger. I'd love to join your threesome   at Reidy Creek the next time you take a class over there. I can't forget how awful my play was when we went but I was still learning your new technique. The putting has improved immensely too.

OBTW, did I tell you I'm loving this game way too much now? ;-)

I still tell the guys it's the golf channel when asked who taught me. I love their facial reaction when they see me hitting. That alone is worth the price of admission. Bwahahahaha!

“ it was the best decision I ever made. Not only am I hitting the ball more consistently and straighter, but I'm also putting with confidence using the Denaro Apex putting method ”

Hi Jason,

It's been a little over 3 months since attending your golf school on April 1. I want to say it was the best decision I ever made. Not only am I hitting the ball more consistently and straighter, but I'm also putting with confidence using the Denaro Apex putting method. Before I attended the Mind Power Golf School, I consistently shot in the mid-80s to mid-90s taking over 30 putts per round. My goal going into the school was to improve on my putting and to break 80. I have broken 80 three times already since attending your school. Awesome mate! Just last week, I made 27 putts breaking 30 for the first time. Last Saturday, in a league match, I made 11 GIRs and shot a 79.

I learned so much about the golf swing, how important a proper set up to the ball is, and the correct mental attitude to have. But it didn't end there. I spent a lot of time on the driving range practicing what you've taught me. The results so far prove how effective your teaching methods are.

For anyone reading this and are undecided to attend the Mind Power Golf school. Think no more. It will be the best decision you will ever make. Jason is such a pleasure to work with and he makes learning fun.

Thanks

PS:   I am actually more excited about the game than I ever was.   What makes it gratifying for me was when one of our league players (not in my   4-some) stopped to observe an approach shot I was about to make.   It was a   difficult 155yd approach shot I was about to make   over 30 foot trees, onto an elevated, sloping green.   The ball was positioned below   my feet so the thought of pushing   it right or catching it thin crossed my mind.   I managed to stay focused with only positive thoughts in my head and I nailed the shot perfectly.   It landed about 20 ft from the pin.   You should have seen the smile across my face when the observer said..."what a shot....you are my hero".

It's shots like that that get me excited.   It would not have been possible without your tutoring.   It should be me that should be thanking you Jason.   So THANK YOU!!!!

Jason,

I came to your class expecting minor tweaking to my swing mechanics but you quickly spotted major flaws that needed drastic changes. I was so far from the “ model ” , had I been swinging backwards, I would be way ahead. Your “ model ” swing from address, backswing to “ go there ” was so easy to understand especially for a language deprived person like me.

Execution though, is another thing. I needed more time in the driving range to work on grooving the perfect swing. I have now gone from hitting straight and getting the ball where I want it to go, one out of twenty swings to seven out of ten!!!! I still top it or hit it fat once in awhile but even then, they ’ re now going in the direction I want them to go. And I have virtually eliminated my fade. Almost!!! You have no idea how much more fun that is for a beginning player like me who started late. I wish I took up this game when I was ten. But hey, where I ’ m at right now after only 13 months, I am so happy with the improvements I have made. The apex putting technique is amazingly accurate! It eliminated the guessing part out of putting. The grip change you did on my driver and woods has contributed to my increased consistency. I can now outdrive my regular foursome; and they've been playing ten to fifteen years more than I have!! Even I'm amazed. Overall, I am playing so much better, my golfing buddies noticed it. I told them it ’ s the golf channel. Keep watching it.

This, however, is one of those things that you don ’ t share. It ’ s like cooking; you don ’ t give out the recipe, so please forgive me if I don ’ t recommend you to anybody. ;-)

Hello Jason,

I am back in Canada and waiting for the snow to melt so I can start playing again. I hope all is well with you in California.

I really enjoyed the school and have watched my video several times already. The drills and tips you provided will help me incredibly this year. As I mentioned when I was in San Diego, I found your ability to use analogies to convey swing information really hit the mark with me. People learn and process information in different ways and your desire to try different approaches to get through to different students says alot about your knowledge of learning and your flexibility and patience.

The highlights of the school for me were: a better understanding of how my body mechanics impacted my full swing; a full appreciation of the importance of hitting through the ball; the one ball positioned a foot behind the impact ball tempo drill; and the importance of keeping the right shoulder down and extending through toward the target (the Nick Faldo image) when hitting the ball. And of course, the APEX putting technique. I enjoy putting practice and look forward to refining my technique in this regard. APEX is gold baby!

As a student, I really tried to listen to your advice and work hard during our time together. I believe this is the only way to erode bad habits, develop good technique and achieve significant improvement. I am confident that the time we spent together will pay large dividends this year.

In comparison to other golf schools I have attended, I learned much more about the pure mechanics of the swing through your use of analogies and eye for detail. The cookie cutter approach of other schools does not provide the individual attention or refined detail that a mid or low handicapper requires.

Feel free to use any of my message for a testimonial in your website. I will gladly provide a testimonial or reference to any rating system (e.g. Golf Digest or Golf Magazine).

Many thanks Jason.

Jason,

I have been a frustrated hacker for a few years now; using my slap shot grip and swing. A co-worker, Tim, continually kicks my a** and that ’ s unacceptable! In fact, my wallet is empty due to losing bets with him. I looked online using Google and found your website. I called to get some information on turning my game around and was happy to hear YOUR VOICE on the phone. With that accent and knowledge of the game I was certain you could improve my swing and all those trouble areas.

Unfortunately, I left your email reply on my monitor at work and, of course, Tim happened to see it. He knew I was his second source of income thanks to my shanks and slices so he covered all his bases by signing up for the same lesson, and on same day! Within the first hour I was already using a new grip — the proper one — and focusing on "Go There." To my delight your methods work, and fast!

Tim also learned from the class but is no longer winning bets like he used to. In fact we are taking bets on who signs up for the next class with you first. We really got a lot out of it thanks to your hands-on teaching, firm grasp of the game and not talking over our heads. You took timely breaks and allowed us to catch our breath, crack a joke or two and get something to drink. Your analogies were kicked around the water cooler at work the next Monday. I saved that golf swing screen saver also. Tim told me he is interested in your custom clubs. So am I am now that Tim is putting greenbacks into my wallet with lost bets!

Thanks again and next time I will bring and wear sun block!!!!

Hi Jason,

I have been golfing for 8 years; about 2 years ago I decided to work on my golf game on a weekly basis. Since then I have been through 3 instructors and 1 golf school with very little results. In fact, I found myself getting worse with each practice session.

I decided to do a little research in an effort to find an instructor who would be most suited for me. I looked through your web site and decided to call and get some info.

I was pleasantly surprised that you picked up the phone. You sold me right there. I had a lot of doubts but all doubt ended the very first hour of class.

I found myself hitting the ball dead straight with very little effort. On day 3 we played 18 holes. I think we were on the 10th hole and I remember you telling me that it was the most difficult par 3 on the course. I hit a beautiful straight shot onto the green and made the birdie putt. Man, my chest stuck out and I got my swagger back. I turned to you and said "I thought this was the hardest par 3 on the course. You don ’ t have anything harder than that?" You just laughed and told me that I got a little cocky when I played well.

The swing positions you taught me are going to stay with my golf swing for life, which is a refreshing change. I also take with me the mental mind set, and realize that the mind is very important. What is probably most impressive is the personal attention that you gave me. You care about the work you put into each student and that makes me feel great. I am also very proud to be a member for life and look forward to knowing you for many years to come. Also, Thanks for the Raider decal. Go Raiders!!!

Thanks again,
Orlando

Jason,

I want to thank you again for the excellent short game session we had on Sunday. I've been playing golf off and on for almost 40 years. I was "self taught" and picked up many bad habits. In addition, I've adapted various tips from other players, instructors, and golf instruction guides into "my swing".. Clearly, I needed to start fresh in order to improve before I get too old.

Your instruction gave me a clear set of principles and guidelines which have proven to be helpful to both my short game and my overall golf swing. You have simplified all the confusing sometimes contradictory information that I've accumulated over the years. In engineering terms you've identified the "first order: variables" which have the most impact in terms of sending the ball where I want it to go. In addition, you identified and corrected my most egregious and correctable faults which were making me inconsistent.

I went to the range the day after our lesson and then played a Par 3 course . I was amazed at how straight I could send the ball towards a target. When elements of my old swing crept back in, I noticed two things:

1: My mishit was more accurate than before
2. I knew the source of the problem and the remedy.

I will continue to practice this week to "burn in" the "first order variables" (sorry for the geek speak). In layman's terms, you've turned a tortured, inconsistent swing into something that is very playable. You've removed the clutter that was in my mind and now I can play golf

Sincerely,
Tom Kennedy

A short testimonial!

Jason,

It was quite enlightening attending your golf school. I was able to learn things about golf and myself that will not only improve my golf, but at the same time help me self correct my game. My shot selection, distance, and direction have improved immeasurably.Putting is now a strength and not an 'oh my'.

After being able to test some of the clubs you make,I now have a new found confidence in club selection and accuracy.

Let's just say, I hit 'em straighter and longer!

Hello Jason!

I have been home on vacation for a little over a week now in Rochester, NY for the holidays and I just wanted to drop you a line and say hello mate and have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

The following is my testimonial that I had promised you and you are welcome to have any person call me so they can get the real deal on Dr. Jason Denaro......

I searched all over the Internet looking for a San Diego Golf School and the number one that came up and was most intriguing....it was Mind Power Golf School..... The name says it all, and so did the Golf Magazines. When you compare the prices for the school to other schools in San Diego, you find the prices are unbeatable especially since you get 4-5 long intense hours of golf instruction each day and not pay the normal Pro Golf instructor his or her $200 / hour wage. Your lesson is guaranteed and you get the hands on training to improve your game, what more can you ask for from a golf school?

Not only do you get an informative and precise golf lesson with Jason, you also get the belief that you will hit your target and you will improve your swing in one day. Guaranteed!!!!

As your lesson goes on you will hear words like: " Pre Shot Routine, Extend and Point to your target and the Ball will go Straight, Follow Through, Stay in that Position, Go There, " these are just a few of Jason's phraseologies that he uses in his teachings and they all have vast meaning once you fully understand the characteristics of the correct golf swing. What an encouragement to watch your ball go exactly where you want it to go!

If anything can improve and shave strokes off your handicap and have dramatic impact on your game, it would be the Ski Position Chip Shot and the Apex Putting Lessons.

Once you fully grasp these ideas and concepts of distance control and speed , I will bet you anything that you will never have to 3 putt again!

Last but not least, I left the school more positive about myself and loving the game of golf even more than when I started. I have a golf teacher in Jason who truly cared to help improve my game and correct on the spot every area in my swing.

Not only do I have an experienced golf teacher and psychologist in Jason but I gained a friend and mate as well.

Thanks Jason and feel free to use this testimonial so that everybody who wants to know exactly what to expect at Mind Power Golf School can call me and ask - and I will be only too pleased to tell them.

Sincerely,
Rick Manning Jr.

Dear Jason,

It's me, Frank (aka Jason Gore look alike) I just wanted to tell you thank you for all the hard work you have done with my swing. I went to you with a horrible problem, the "S" word, the unspeakable in golf. I thought no-one could fix my problem. I went to your 2 day golf school and found it very beneficial to my golf game. (you can not beat the price it was great!) Your teaching style was very hands on and knowledgeable. Your knowledge of the golf swing is purely grand and amazing. Your know how of the mechanic of the swing helped me understand what it takes to find my problem, and then how to correct it. However, what I liked most about your teaching is that you did not just fix the problem, you actually showed me exactly what I was doing wrong, by playing the shot incorrectly yourself, and then replayed it, not just telling telling me how to fix the problem, but actually demonstrating the correction for me.

By the end of the first day of my two day school I was hitting straight, without any "S". I now hit all my irons completely straight, my wedges, which I had the most problems with, are now beautiful and straight. I have also picked up more distance in my iron play with the help of Jason. In addition to his help at the School, Jason and I have kept in touch with e-mails and he has helped me with any problems that I face on the golf course or in my swing with a quick response to my weekly emails. It is so refreshing to know that if I hit a bad spot in my swing I can e-mail my problem and Jason will write back same day with a fix, its amazing. I was an 8-10 handicap, and now I have pushed it down to a 5 because of Jason.

I've just returned from Vegas and played a Pete Dye track and shot 6 over. I played that track last year and shot a +20. Jason and his school is amazing. My real reasons for going with Jason was that I called his school and Jason picked up the phone to my surprise and talked to me about my swing like we were long friends. If you are looking at golf school like I was, go to Jason's school it was very beneficial. If anyone has a question Please Feel Free to E-MAIL me or Call me I will tell you all about Jason and his school.

Jason,

Thank you again for the great golf school, I wished I would have found your school years ago. You have provided me with swing mechanics which allows me to swing easier than I ever have in my golf life, yet hit the ball higher, farther, and with much greater accuracy. I expected the golf school to be a lot of work, and it was, and worth every bit of the pain. I think you offer a great service to the golfing community, at a very reasonable price. Since I was going to be traveling to attend your school, I decided to send you an email before signing up for the school stating what I wanted to achieve from the school. In the email I mentioned that I have arthritis in a few of my fingers and that I can ’ t grip the clubs with an overlap grip. You telephoned me after receiving the email and talked with me about the issues I was concerned with in my email. During the school you worked with my limitations and made swing adjustments based on my abilities.

I received the new woods you made for me last Saturday, I am still getting used to the distances for the new woods. The 5 through 15 woods are easy to hit, they fly high and straight. I love the grips, and feel of these clubs.

On my third visit to the range this week I noticed I was calling each of my iron shots from my wedge through 6 iron. The range I was at Friday afternoon uses wooden barrels for yardage markers and I hit four of the barrels I was aiming at on the first or second bounce during the practice session. I was hitting my 6 iron between 150-160 yards; even more important was that I was hitting it at the target. The chipping portion of the golf school was very difficult for me, and I knew this was going to be the case. For sometime now I have been trying to hit down on the ball stopping my swing at the bottom when chipping, often hitting behind the ball and leaving it short of the green. I knew I needed to swing through the ball but found this very difficult to change. The SKI position definitely helped, but when you had me try to chip using the 13 wood this really helped me feel the proper swing for this shot. I now make chipping part of every trip to the practice range and lately I have been making myself hold the finish. I know how important this will be to lowering my score and I am committed to mastering this important golf shot. I recommend everyone who attends the golf school to do as Dr. Jason recommends, go to the range for three weeks of practice prior to playing a round of golf, no matter how good you are hitting. This not only helps build your confidence but will assist you in not returning to your old habits. I did not do this, and my game on the range was much better than my first game on the course. This has now made me even more committed to the practice range for the next few weeks, because I know that I am capable of hitting great golf shots.

The different techniques, drills, positive thinking, and swing mechanics I learned from the Mind Power Golf School has made golf feel like a whole new game!!!!

Jason!

Just wanted to say THANKS again for the absolutely fabulous golf instruction on 18 Jun.   My current favorite is that great little chip shot from the ski position--I actually sunk one from about 25 feet a few days ago, and my co-workers figured I'd been sandbagging them :)   I'm still working on getting into the right finishing position in my full shots (some of them still go off to the right, despite the hot poker...) but at least now, when my shots don't quite make it where they need to be, I have a much better idea of how to make the fix.

I also had quite a bit of success with a modification of the swing thought "go there."   I changed my thought to "smooth swing," and I picture myself just making the swing look good, instead of worrying about the ball.   Maybe it's a vanity thing--the men just worry about getting the job done, but the ladies want to look good while they're doing it   :)

I'm working out my practice schedule and am optimistic for shooting consistent low 90's by the end of the season.   I would definitely be ready for another lesson the next time I'm in town, I'll keep you posted on the dates but right now I am guessing sometime in Nov.   I'm also talking to my uncle about getting my clubs reshafted and the lie angles adjusted--I'd really appreciate any kind of input you'd be willing to give him.   I can't believe what a difference a properly weighted and fitted club makes.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and make sure to let me know when you decide to make that key fob with your voice on it :)

Cheers,

Wen Sanyk

Hi Jason,

Well, I am back in Canada and only after one day, I am not enjoying myself. I woke up Sunday morning and really wanted to head back to Twin Oaks for some more golf. And the weather sucks, already too cold for me and it's not even close to being the coldest time of the winter.

My mum and I had a great time at your school...we couldn't stop talking about you and the golf with my dad and sister. You were right, we really lucked out by getting you as a teacher. You made the experience what it was and not only fun, but we both feel like we took away some great techniques and also took away some mental thinkings to make our game better and more enjoyable.

The back 9 was so so...we started out feeling rushed since the starter was nice enough to let us jump infront of a group on the front 9. We lost our spot for the back 9 but that's ok. So, we had some good shots...different without you looking over our shoulder. I wish you could've seen my mum play the 9th hole...it was the best hole i'd ever seen her play. 3 perfect wood shots then one over the water onto the green...then she made another long putt!! She (and I) was so happy! A great way to end the three days. I was worried that she wouldn't get as much out of the golf school as I would but her expectations were surpassed and she is really into it now. And plus she always loves watching me...and i'll always enjoy being a teacher for her.

My 2nd 9 was ok...but i need some time to get used to the clubs. I am the most pleased with my iron game after the three days with you. I feel so confident hitting them now that I never had before. And now I have a set of woods that I'll actually like hitting and will use!!

I have started looking into teaching golf. If I do it in Canada it's only offered in the summer...surpris surprise. Which would give me time to improve. And i'm looking into school options in California as well. If I were to come and train with you, how many hours a week would we be working on golf? I would like to get an idea of what kind of time I would have to make money or go to school.

Thanks again...you have given me something to think about and look forward to that is really exciting for me. I haven't had that in a while when it comes to a career.

Sorry this was long, I had a lot to say. I hope your week has started off well. Packed schedule I'm sure.

I will send the address to deliver my mom's clubs to soon. And I've attached some pictures...they're great!

Talk soon,

Tanya

hard (but fun) days.

Hello Jason:

It's been 48 hours since we said good bye and I'm still feeling in awe from the fabulous instruction that Tanya and I received with you last week.

It went way beyond both our expectations. Your coaching, technical, equipment and mind-over-matter expertise is amazing. I feel I turned into a golfer "Jennifer style" with lots of potential for further development- both technically and for enjoyment of the sport- that had not yet shown up for me.

Tanya is on cloud nine and having to work through the reality of daily life as she makes plans for what happens next for her and her passion for golf. She'll be in touch for sure.

Please feel free to use my comments in testimonials... if useful, Tanya and I can create some mother-daughter comments. On that aspect, I also want to compliment you for managing the obvious differences aboutTanya and I both as golfers, our parent/child relationship, as well as our styles.... you handled it very well.

All the best... I expect to see you again some day, in some context yet to unfold....

Cheers, Jennifer

Hello Jason,

I wanted to write to you and hopefully you can include this on your website in the testimonial section. First let me thank you on the way that you look at the instruction of golf. As you know I had been to several teachers and not one of them in all the lesson's I took really ever made me understand how important certain positions can be. I can only imagine what kind of game I would have had I come to you when I first began playing seriously 2 1/2 years ago. The putting technique by far is worth twice as much as you charge for the 3 day school. The ski position works great for me on shot's around the green although I seem to be hitting more greens in regulation lately.

Since I got back from the school which I attended in August 2005, I haven't played as much as I would have liked. I have however practiced a lot more than I ever had done previously. So here is what happened to me on September 16, 2005. Playing with a friend who likes to make fun of me because of all of my gadgets and that I went to a golf school, he also thinks my new putting technique looks goofy. I started out with a couple of par's thanks to 2 consecutive one putt's that were not gimmie's. 3rd hole hit tee shot out of bounds due to old golf swing jumping in for a second. Still only doubled that hole thanks to a long two putt, easily could have been an 8. 4th, 5th, 6th holes all pars with two one putt's (should have birdied the two putt hole). 7th hole got to the green in regulation and made a big breaker from 15 feet for birdie, another one putt. Hole 8 was a par. Then the nerves set in and the old golfer in my brain said what the heck are you trying to do shoot par for nine holes. So I doubled nine. Still shot 3 over par my best 9 hole score ever. I ended the day with an 84 that included two out of bounds penalties and one drop from a hazard, basically 5 extra strokes for mental errors. But my saving grace was the Denaro Apex Putting as I only putted 28 times with not one 3 putt. The course is a 68.9 rating with 130 slope and for a current index of 17.0 I'd say that is pretty darn good.

Thank you Jason for making my friends who have been golfing for years fear me. When you putt that few times and take 16 of 18 skins they can make fun of me all they want because I got the money and the lowest score.

Look forward to seeing you next year for a refresher.

Take Care,

Tony Souza

Hello Jason!

Well, I was able to catch my daughters Sunday afternoon soccer game in Irvine (4:00PM). They won the tournament. Anyway, I wanted to drop you a line to let you know I appreciate the good stuff! You ’ ve got it and made it available to me!

I've hit the driving range every day after work to burn in the techniques you gave me.

My hits are significantly straighter than they ever have been and I know it will continue. I intend to use the ski position training method for ever as the ball "goes there". I very much enjoyed the time spent with you. You are able to spot week areas immediately and give us what we need individually. I can't wait to go out with my regular partners to play. I did not tell them I was attending a school. ( I had no idea how effective you were going to be. I am (was) a 20 handicap. There is no doubt that I will cut that in half. As I mentioned to you the second day, I never practiced because I didn't have anything to work! on. Well, you've given me the right stuff to practice with, and I am, and will continue to do so. Thank you again. I will pass on to my older daughter as much as I can, then I'll send her to you also!

Thank you Jason!

Jeff

September 4 :

Hi Jason, You ’ re going to get a kick out of this; Last night was my fourth night (after the school) at the same driving range at an executive par 3 near where I live.

Down the line there has been a teaching pro who came up to me last night and asked “ So, what are you working on? ” And I said, ” Shaking a guys hand with bad breath ” ( one of the school's teaching analogies). After I explained myself he wanted to know more about this technique! He was very interested in the ski position! High five to you! I gave him your name and web site.

Jason,

Your ski stance position around the green has been the key to my low scores. In the past, I have always been able to get somewhere close around the green but then I let the fear of missing my next shot turn a birdie into a bogey! Now, I have the confidence around the green and then when I get on the green the confidence even gets better! Thanks for the tips and I will continue to use them and I am sure I will improve. Feel free to use my name and email address for your referral page on your website Jason. Again, thanks a ton, I have all the guys at the course envious and curious.

Hey Mate,

I love that word, "mate". I had the most incredible time at your golf school. I hit some great shots on Saturday and Sunday. I feel more confident with my putting, my swing and love my new pre-shot routine. I ended up with four large blisters on my fingers, so I did struggle with some of my shots. It was difficult gripping the club. However, today is Tuesday and they are pretty much healed now. I will begin practicing now that my hands are better. As far as the clubs go, I would like you to ship them to my house. I am so excited about the new clubs and can't wait to hit them. Wow, you did them fast. One question, are the wedges extended? If not, I would like them extended unless you think that is a bad idea. I was thinking that if I am hitting my pitching wedge farther I will need my other wedges to handle 125 yards and in. I would like to come down and play golf with you as soon as possible. We can play anywhere you would like. Remember, I have every Friday off and it is easy for me to get the other days of the week off, just give me a few days notice. I want to tell you how wonderful it was to spend time with you. Your golf school was by far the best golf experience I have ever had. I think you are a fantastic person and I am looking forward to spending more time with you. You are an excellent teacher because of your natural talents, patience, awareness, calm presentation, and fabulous sense of humor. Those characteristics are only the tip of the iceberg. Jason, I must be honest - you are one hell of a human being. In a nut shell, "I Love You Man" and I feel very fortunate to have had the pleasure of meeting you and working with you. I will talk with you soon.

Hi Jason. Just thought I would thank you again for working with my son Tad . He has had two major tourneys since we were at your school in April, with ok results but he has dropped his handicap to a 5.5 in less than 2 months and has qualified to play in a world jr. qualifier this week as well as the US Jr   amateur qualifier in our region in 2 weeks.   It's hard to keep him focused on some of your drills etc. but the positive affirmations from your book keep him pumped.

Thanks again.

Dear Jason,

Wanted to let you know that I received the clubs this week and was able to test them out on Friday. You were right again. What great clubs they are!! They have a great feel and very easy to swing. I'm looking forward to getting to the range and working on my swing. I especially like the lob and sand wedges. Using them for the first time in a round I was able to pull off some great shots.

Thanks again and I'll keep in touch.

Hi Jason,

I was smiling all the way back to Long Beach!! Its been a long time since I felt so good about any sport. I feel like a child with a new toy called "the swing"!

Do you think it is a good idea for me to get the 9,11,13 woods instead of the 3,4,5 irons? I was reading your suggestions about clubs and started wondering about this. Also please let me know how much extra this will cost.   I've been very lucky with you so far. The one on one instruction is going to be very very valuable.
